We utilise the Early Years Foundation Stage as a framework which sets the standards for the care of our children as well as learning and development. The framework provides the foundation for children to enable them to reach their full potential. We aim to provide a safe, secure and warm environment in which all children can access the EYFS.
Individuality is paramount to childcare and what we do at the nursery. Our absolute aim is to bring an enjoyable and safe learning environment, within a flexible routing in a group setting whilst taking individual needs into full consideration. We aim to create an environment where we recognise, acknowledge and celebrate children's differences, and where children are encouraged to value and respect others. We promote equality of opportunity and anti-discriminitary practice.
The nursery is open to, and welcomes all children and families. We aim to ensure that all who wish to work in our nursery have an equal chance to do so. We regularly liaise with parents and relevant authorities to support children who may have additional or special needs.

Since opening in 1993 Woodthorpe Day Nursery has gained an excellent reputation for it's high standards of staff, care and education. We are registered with Ofsted and are members of the National Day Nursery Association. Furthermore we are extremely proud of the fact that our kitchen has been awarded the highest possible 5* rating by the local council inspectorate. Congratulations to all of our brilliant kitchen staff.
We are committed to ensuring that all of our children groups have a stimulating and enjoyable time whilst at nursery and that their needs and interests are met through fun and enjoyable games and activities. Our staff members provide daily feedback to parent/carers and thoroughly update the children's book throughout all activities completed at nursery.
